The way scenes are saved and exported has changed. The good news is that it is now much simpler.

Please have a read at the docs to get a full overview of the changes, but here is a short summary:

  • Previously, when starting a project, you had to choose if the files generated would be in html, javascript or javascript. That was too confusing, so I've scrapped that.
  • Previously, when exporting a scene, you had yet another choice of which format to export. I've also scrapped that, and the end results is even more flexible. Following that change, I'll now be working on tutorials on how to integrate your scenes with other website frameworks, from vuejs/react to wordpress/shopify.
  • And to simplify even further, Saving and Exporting are not 2 different steps as it used to be the case. Now when you save a scene, it is also exported at the same time. What that means is that the files needed to upload your scene somewhere else are always re-generated when you save.

In short: Using Creating WebGL scenes with Polygonjs is now even simpler than it used to be!
