tex/Render

Renders the world scene from a camera, or the depth from a light, into a texture.

Render

Draws the world scene as it is committed when the node cooks, from the camera or light that 'path' names. A camera draws only the objects that share one of its render layers (set both with geo/ObjectProperties), so a camera on its own layer renders just the objects placed there.

The world scene is filled by the root geo/Output nodes, and nothing tells this node when it changes: it renders when its own params change, or when 'update' is pressed.

Parameters

Name Type What it does
type UInt8 BEAUTY · SHADOW BEAUTY renders the colours seen by a camera. SHADOW renders the depth seen by a shadow casting light.
path String The camera or light to render from: its name, or its path in the scene graph.
resolution Vector2UInt The texture's width and height in pixels.
update Button Renders again now, with the world scene as it is. The nodes reading the texture then cook again.

This page is generated from the engine, so it describes the release you can download. The same text is in the editor's Help panel next to the node itself.
