code/SDFQuaternionJulia
The distance to a quaternion Julia set.
Sdf3d
Returns the estimated distance from a sampled position to a quaternion Julia set: the 4D cousin of the 2D Julia set, shown as a 3D slice. The twin of geo/SDFQuaternionJulia, for use inside a geo/SDFBuilder sub-network. The value is an estimate, so the raymarcher takes shorter steps where it is used.
Parameters
| Name | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| P | Vector3 | Position to sample the field at. Left unwired it reads the builder's own sample position. |
| t | Vector3 | Center of the set. |
| scale | Float | Overall size. At 1 the default set is about 2 units across. |
| c | Vector4 | The fixed number added at each step, which decides the shape. x is its real part; y, z and w its three imaginary parts. Wire a slowly moving value into it for a morphing set. |
| w | Float | Where the 3D slice cuts the 4D set, along the fourth axis. |
| iterations | UInt8 | How many steps each point is followed for. A wired value is capped at 64. |
