geo/M3DHull

Wraps 3D manifold solids in their convex hull.

Manifold Operations

Computes the smallest convex solid that contains a manifold solid, as if it were shrink-wrapped. Each input is brought into world space first, so upstream transforms are honoured.

By default every object gets a hull of its own. Turn on combineObjects to take ONE hull around every solid on the input instead, which is how a group of parts gets a single enclosure. geo/M3DCompose gives the same result in two steps, and also lets other nodes treat a group as one.

Colours do not survive: the hull's surface is new, and most of it spans points that were never neighbours.

Parameters

Name Type What it does
combineObjects Bool Off outputs one hull per input solid. On outputs a single hull around every solid on the input.
