geo/SDFClip
Cuts 3D SDF objects with a plane and keeps one side, or both.
Sdf Operations
Cuts each 3D SDF object with a plane, placed by `origin` and `direction` like geo/Clip, and keeps the side the direction points to, the other side, or both as two objects. It does what a geo/SDFPlane fed into a geo/SDFBoolean intersection does, without the plane's bounds to set: the result's bounds are the input's, cut down to the kept side.
The cut edge can be rounded or chamfered with `profile` and `size`, which mean the same as on geo/SDFBoolean. Each object is cut on its own, so a geo/Copy of five shapes gives five cut shapes. Only 3D SDF objects are cut. Everything else passes through untouched, 2D SDF objects included: geo/SDFClip2D cuts those.
Parameters
| Name | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| mode | UInt8 KEEP_ABOVE · KEEP_BELOW · KEEP_ALL | Which side to keep: the side the direction points to (above), the other side (below), or both as two objects. |
| origin | Vector3 | A point on the cutting plane. |
| direction | Vector3 | The plane's normal. It points to the side kept as above. Normalized on cook. |
| profile | UInt8 HARD · ROUND · CHAMFER | The shape of the cut edge. HARD leaves it sharp, ROUND fillets it, CHAMFER bevels it at 45 degrees. |
| size | Float | How far back from the edge the fillet or chamfer starts, measured along each face. |
